Chakra’s “Satekoso” (1981) feels like a playful transmission from a parallel universe. Ogawa Mishio‘s voice shows range and strength, holding the album’s dreamlike logic together. “Myun Myun” is about literally being a cat, while “You Need Me” melds longing with complex percussion. Producer Haruomi Hosono folds time and texture into a soft, uncanny blur. The result is strange, euphoric, and utterly brilliant.
